Its just a waiting game

From the moment I found out that I was about to become a father to the moment I decided to write this blog... I've been waiting:

Waiting for the next scan
Waiting for the next kick
Waiting for the baby that will change my life forever

People that have had children always talk about life after having the baby but no one ever mentioned the long wait that they had to go through before. That nervous feeling that you get before your first scan, the emotions you feel before telling your loved ones and yet one thing’s for sure, we all have to go through the wait.

With only three weeks to go the waiting game has started to get intense, i now find myself:

Waiting for the day to go quick so that i can get home.
Waiting for the final deliveries
Waiting for my wife’s waters to break
Waiting for labour to start.

I know this round of waiting will soon be over, but I guess a lifetime of waiting awaits me now:

Waiting for the first word
Waiting for the first step
Waiting for the first tooth

Then as they get older

Waiting for them to come home
Waiting for them to pass their exams
Waiting for them to get a job.

The wait it seems is a part of our lives now forever.
